These are five of my favorites... more inspirational quotes on life (and drawing!) to come though!

Bruce Lee - Absorb What is Useful

When learning how to draw - and you find something that works!!! - stick with it.
"Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, and add what is uniquely your own."

Calvin Coolidge - Persistence

Persistence and determination - fueled by the will power to continue on, is key to success when learning how to draw. Practice... repetition... passion!
"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

Malcolm Forbes - The Biggest Mistake

Job? How about passion! No question - do what you love and love what you do. That's the ticket - and if it's art and drawing that you're 'drawn' to - if that's what makes you happy... then that's what you've got to do!
"The biggest mistake people make in life is not making a living at doing what they most enjoy."

Randy Pausch - Brick Walls

If you push through - right to the end - no matter what... practicing... repeating... making mistakes along the way... learning from them... and enjoying what you do!... than you can and will be successful.
"Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are there to show us how badly we want things. The brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough!"

Steve Jobs - Your Time is Limited

Deep down - you know what it is you want to do. If drawing and art is what you most enjoy - and what you want to work most hard at in order to succeed because you're passionate about them - then the answer is simple.
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living which the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Bruce Lee - Feel

A calculating left brain is important to establish structure, proportion, likeness, etc. Too much thinking though, and the process can become a lot less enjoyable. Let go... tap into the creative right brain... and take your work as far as it can go. Always.
"Don't think. FEEL. It is like a finger pointing away to the moon. Do not concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory. "
